Two Top Ten Results For Standing Construct KTM Team at Italian GP
Kevin Strijbos of the Standing Construct KTM Team scored a strong seventh place in the second heat of the Italian MXGP round at Ottobiano. Teammate Valentin Guillod also visited the ranks of the top ten in one of his heats.
The mercury topped 30 degrees on both days of the race weekend. Despite this, the team’s riders were ready. Strijbos posted the seventh qualifying time, and after a good start he finished sixth in the qualifying race. Guillod recovered from a lesser start to qualify 15th.
Guillod stormed into fifth place off the start in race one. He focused on not crashing, and eventually finished tenth. Strijbos had to recover from a bad start, and did well to work his way up to 14th.
Strijbos clocked a beautiful holeshot in race two. He fought for the best position possible and eventually finished seventh. This was a great morale booster for him and the team. Guillod rode a steady race to finish 15th.
Strijbos was classified tenth overall for the day and is 15th in the world championship standings. Guillod was 15th for the GP , and has risen to 22nd on the championship ladder.
The series continues in two weeks’ time in Indonesia.
