Another top ten position for Kevin Strijbos in the world championship MXGP

Kevin Strijbos of the Standing Construct KTM team finished inside of the top ten again at the penultimate round of the world championship in Assen, the Netherlands. Strijbos was riding a consistent first moto and finished in eight position. In the second moto he took a poor start and had to come back through the field. He kept pushing till the end and finished the race in eleventh place, which gave him ninth position overall.

On the famous TT circuit in Assen the organisation had a made a heavy sandtrack. Kevin felt himself at home on the track immediately and managed to set the fifth fastest time in free practice and the sixth fastest time in the time practice session. This gave him confidence for the qualifying heat. Unfortunately he made a crash in the first corner after the start and had to come back from the back of the field. Kevin was riding the most ideal lines and passed one rider after another to finally finish the race in twelfth.

When the gate dropped in the opening moto, he took a decent start and came out of the first lap in twelfth place. From there on he started to build up his race and worked his way up to eight position. In the second moto he had a lot more work to do and had to come back from around twentieth position. He gave everything he had and worked his way back up to eleventh position, which gave ninth place overall.

With still one round to go Kevin sits in fourteenth position in the championship. The final round of the championship will be held in Imola, Italy in two weeks time!
